Park in the Dark
Well it was chilly, and choir didn't turn up, but about 70 of us, all wrapped up warm with hats and scarves and gloves, decorated torches and we all made our way through the park to the bandstand, where we listened to festive tunes, ate mince pies and lots of warming hot chocolate!

Newham's Biggest Leaf Pile

I'm not sure we made our BIGGEST leaf pile, but it was certainly our muddiest (sorry Mum's and Dad's), not that that seemed to stop anyone having fun, you all got stuck in with the raking, wheel-barrowing and climbing on the pile to enjoy yourselves. And lots of you took a breather to make Autumn Stars and Spider Webs at the craft table.

Poppies for Peace

It started slowly and with a heavy shower, but in the end the sun came out and we made lots of poppies and had more than 30 messages left on our peace trees. Thank you all for braving the weather!

Guided Bird Walk

It was chilly and it looked like it might rain, but 24 of us braved the weather to go on our latest bird walk. And boy were we pleased with what we saw! The Ring-necked Parakeets (pretty even if they aren't native), Mistle Thrushes, Pigeons, Starlings, Magpies, the Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Common Gulls, a Jay, Blackbirds, Crows, Robins, Chaffinches and lots of Blue and Great Tits. We are now ready for next weekend's RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch!
